Happy wiki'ing, Perl

I would like to revive this project. I noticed that you've added yourself to the list of available Spanish-to-English translators. Are you interested in working on Spanish Translation of the Week? — J3ff 06:24, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

There are a few untranslated phrases in this article: Origin of the name California. Do you think you can help translate the remaining phrases? The untranslated phrases are marked in red. — J3ff 20:36, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not a native Spanish speaker. Thanks for taking the time to go through it. — J3ff 01:15, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

So, for translating articles it's good to have a link in the references section of the article stating that the article you translated is based off an article in another language. Many people translate by copying the text to a temporary page to work on the article before merging it with the main text. Or you can do it the way we do for Spanish translation of the Week, copying all the text into the article. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me — J3ff 10:32, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hello! Just came across your article, and I LOVE it! Fond memories aside, though, are you still planning to use this image in the article? It's currently an orphan. --InShaneee 03:54, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)

This image should not belong to Game Over (film) because it does not come from the film. It was photographed at a basketball court. Not fair use anyway. adnghiem501 02:02, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, but it -did- come from the movie! It comes from a sequence which uses footage from that football game. Basically, the main character is being led into the team's lockerroom, and everyone's giving words of advice (or warning) to him. Mike Ditka shows up and speaks to the character a few times during the sequence. Also, there's football players in the background of the picture, not basketball players. :) All the images I added when I created the article were taken from the film. Why don't you consider it fair use? It came from the DVD, and in my opinion it helps illustrate the fact that the movie uses footage from games that have nothing to do with the other (except for the company that made them). - Kitsune Sniper / David Silva 02:16, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
An article, Mike Ditka, does not have information about his film. You need to add that information to the article. adnghiem501 02:26, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The movie isn't even mentioned on his IMDB listing! The footage, as stated on the Game Over article, comes from the game Quarterback Attack. The movie used footage from that game and a few others. I don't believe that it's my place to add info on Game Over to Mike Ditka, due to the fact that the article doesn't have information on his acting career. I feel it'd be best to wait until others add info on that, than leave a half-done job.

Anyway, I saw that you readded Walter Koenig, so I guess I'll leave this alone then. Ditka only has a cameo, so I figure it's best for him to not be mentioned there. Sorry for all the ruckus! - Kitsune Sniper / David Silva 02:55, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because of your input on previous music AfDs, I was hoping you would take a look at this article and provide your thoughts on whether or not it meets WP:MUSIC its latest AfD. PT (s-s-s-s) 00:25, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gameoverfront.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gameoverfront.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:13, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:MKII ARC Toasty.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MKII ARC Toasty.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Game Over - Walter Koenig.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Game Over - Walter Koenig.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 06:24, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:MangaversePunisher01Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:MangaversePunisher01Cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
